Money Brain works from the lending a client already has, and shows the working, naming which lenders were compared, what each costs a year, and when the answer is to stay put.

How we actually work

Every figure we give a client comes from a document we have read, dated, and can show them. Lender policy changes quietly and often, and a broker answering from memory will be confident and wrong. We hold the current policy documents, we check them against the deal in front of us, and where something is uncertain we say so rather than guessing.

We are paid by the lender when a loan settles, which creates an obvious pull toward recommending a move. The check on that is simple and we apply it every time: the only test for a recommendation is the lowest total cost to you. What we are paid never enters it.
